Warren T. Schneider Warren T. Schneider was born September 25, 1922, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schneider of 504 New Jersey Avenue in Riverside. He married Geraldine "Gerrie" Herbst and lived with the Herbst family on Holly Street in Delanco. He joined the US Army and went off to serve in the infantry in WWII and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was killed in action on November 18, 1944 at the battle for Belfort Gap in France at age 22, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. Warren is buried in Beverly National Cemetery. His name appears on the Riverside monument to those who gave their lives in WWII, however his name was not included on the original Delanco WWII Honor Roll.
